Hello Cool People
Concept
Beliefs
Scientific propositions can be falsified. Those things that cannot be falsified can only be beliefs (such as the existence of God or not; mechanical determinism or free will). Therefore, we don’t need to argue on these issues.
Scientific Thinking (Double-blind Experimen)
An important method in science is the double-blind experiment, which is also a very important experimental method to eliminate subjective factors and avoid the placebo effect.
So for those who take naive conjectures as the cognitive basis (such as the five elements, qi, and pulse conditions in the ancient Chinese medical theory), we consider that this person does not have scientific thinking. We hope to ask him to learn more, or ask him to leave our site.
Scientific institutions usually have good scientific experimental methods to determine the credibility of information. Therefore, we can usually believe directly in the information from authoritative scientific institutions. But for those conclusions of unknown origin in Moments, we must remain skeptical.
Only when your base of scientific thinking is well established, the cognitive building you construct on it will be firm and unbreakable. On the contrary, your cognition will be contradictory, leading you into cognitive traps and unable to save yourself, going further and further on the wrong path.
Highly recommend the scientific cognition test designed by the “Science Voice” team of Mr. Wang Jie, a well-known popular science author in Shanghai who won the Hundred Flowers Literature Award in 2019. Let you know more about your own level of scientific cognition.
Psychology (defensive thinking vs. Growth mindset)
In developmental psychology, defensive thinking is overly sensitive to failure, avoiding challenges. Growth mindset sees abilities as improvable through effort. For example, in an exam, the former blames, the latter learns. It influences development and how we face challenges.
Vision
Only when the base of scientific literacy is aligned, when we talk about any issues, we will not waste energy and time arguing, be more efficient and quick, and trust each other more.
Value
Remember the more you know, the more you know you don’t know. Always stay hungry, stay foolish.
We encourage sharing, we encourage asking questions, and we need active responses.
Don’t just be a freeloader, but be a mutual helper.
Action
Welcome all friends to recommend good friends to join the group. Hope everyone can share with each other, exchange information, and learn and grow together!
The purpose of our group is to strive to become the most worthwhile high-end learning community for you to join ~
Welcome everyone to discuss various brain-burning issues in the group ~
Rules
Therefore, for those who, after entering the group, do not respond when the group owner or administrator @ them individually for two days; those who despise others, make fun of others, or conduct personal attacks; all will be asked to leave the group (very restrained); we cannot lower the average quality of the students in this group.
